A fine English Ornate Polished Brass Register Grate. The brass front surround with pomegranates and foliage in relief framed with beaded moulding. The front basket with three polished wrought fire bars is flanked by brass sunflower embellished hob-fronts set over a fluted fret interspersed with sunflowers topped with segmented urn finials. The burning area with hob-sides and original fire brick, sit below reeded and wrought panels. One of a pair of register grates. Superbly constructed, most probably made by Longden of London. Restored.
