In good condition, with a rich colour and patina, some marks and signs of wear as should be expected for the age.
The furniture firm of Robert Strahan & Co. was founded in Dublin in 1776 and by 1845 they had two workshops as well as their main commercial premises. Known for their high quality work, the firm exhibited at the Dublin Great Industrial Exhibition in 1853 and the London International Exhibition in 1862. They supplied furniture to many of the most well-known Irish country houses including Doneraile Court, Lisnavagh, and Monte Alverno, many of which had their contents sold off in the 20th century.

For moving this item divides into five sections which should be screwed together when rebuilding (cornice, plinth, two side sections, centre section).
