English William IV mahogany tambour writing box with drawer. The tambour top is serpentine in shape, rolls back and reveals a place for writing utensils and ink (a removable open narrow box is ideal for pens or ink bottles). There is a separate drawer below the tambour top which would have been used for paper storage. It retains cast brass side carrying handles for easy portability. Circa 1840.
