A fine quality, generously proportioned William IV rosewood center or dining table, the round top showcasing the extraordinary color and figure of the lively wood grain. It is edged with carved acanthus leaf decoration, supported by a pedestal with boldly carved anthemion motifs and a plinth with carved gadrooning raised on four body carved feet with scrolled acanthus leaf decoration. With its bold carving and exquisite rosewood surface, this table was likely made for the Anglo-Indian market. A truly spectacular table which would be a striking center table in an entrance hall as well as a dining or library table.
