Pair of Chinese Jun ware bowls, Yuan dynasty (circa 1250-1400): Large Jun Yao, purple splashed stone ware bowl Yuan Dynasty, China. Well potted, on a neatly cut splayed foot, the bowl is applied with thick pale blue glaze, splashed with a patch of purple and transmuting to a mushroom tone at the rim. The glaze stopping short above the foot, revealing an orange burnt stoneware. Minor chip in glaze on each. Age-related crazing to glaze and a few scattered glaze inclusions, especially to rim, otherwise in good condition with no cracks or restorations. Bowls measure 4.25 inches high and diameter of 1st bowl is 10.88 inches and second bowl is 10.63 inches.
