An antique Brussels biblical tapestry from the late 16th century, attributed to Jan (Ian) Raes, depicting Moses at right, with Joshua kneeling before him in the sophisticatedly rendered central field. Enclosed by a wide primary border featuring meticulously drawn allegorical vignettes, with a blue outer slip having the Brussels town mark. Wool with silk inlay.
Size is 11.0 H x 8.5 W. Excellent condition.

The tapestry comes ready for hanging, with linen backing and a strip of hook and loop tape at the top end, which can be connected to the opposite side of the supplied hook and loop tape, which could be tacked to your wall.
