Lombard school of the second half of the 17th century. Great oil artwork on canvas depicting Christ and the Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus is traveling and decides to stop at a well. A Samaritan woman approaches Christ and he asks her to drink. For the Jews, the Samaritans were impure and therefore they avoided them and did not speak to them. Jesus does not care about this tradition and the woman reacts with amazement. A painting of notable pictorial quality, particularly evident in the drapery of the robes. Monumental painting with life-size figures, suitable for a large reception hall or private chapel. Stunning antique contemporary frame in carved, painted and gilded wood, with some signs of aging. Painting that has undergone restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in some places. Overall in good state of preservation. Sight size H 189 x W 130 cm.
