Antique Italian painting from the second half of the 17th century. Oil artwork on canvas depicting a particular religious subject, Christ receives the chalice from an angel. In the dramatic evangelical scene in the garden of olive trees, frightened by the impending passion, Jesus calls upon his father asking him to help him drink the bitter cup that awaits him. Our painting interprets this moment by placing a splendid angel next to Christ who offers him the chalice. Painting from the Lombard school of notable pictorial quality and with bright and lively colors. Antique non-coeval frame in high quality carved and gilded wood, with some gilding losses (see photo). Painting that has undergone restoration with relining, replacement of the frame and restoration of color in some small points. Overall in excellent state of preservation. Sight size H 117 x W 90 cm.
