19th Century Set of 4 Ironstone Tea Leaf Decorative Motif Pitchers by Powell & Bishop

Collected over many years, in graduated Sizes. A set of 4 Iron Stone Pitchers in the copper Tea Leaf decorative motif by Powell & Bishop. Founded in 1851 as Livesley, Powell & Co., Hanley, Stoke-on-Kent, England.

Copper tea leaf on each side, gold colored trim on edges, handles and spouts. The copper and gold “oxides” where added in the decorating stages of the firing.

Livesley left the business in 1860 which was renamed Powell & Bishop in 1867. That continued until 1878 when John Stonier joined the company and the name was changed to Powell, Bishop & Stonier. Thus, the items can be dated from this period till the 1880’s.

The largest is a Water Jug and measures 12″ x 8″.
The second is a large Milk Pitcher and measures 8″ x 6″.
The third (a Juice Pitcher?) measures 6″ x 4.5″.
The smallest is a Creamer and measures 5″ x 3.5″.
