A magnificent finely carved statuary William IV chimneypiece. The moulded shelf sits over a finely carved continuous frieze with central acanthus bloom, harebells and foliage details. The foliate and berry corner blocks, set over scroll and flower in relief. The jambs echo the finely detailed frieze with anthemion, harebell and floral motifs. The inner moulding framing the opening in fine carved lambs tongue. One of a near identical pair of chimneypieces in our collection. Restored.
