A very rare early 19th Century William IV fruitwood teapoy in the manner of Dublin maker ‘William and Gibton’. This exceptional piece is of circular form and finely hand carved with gorgeously rich patination, fine grain, decorative pierced carved detail to the body and is fitted with brass escutcheon and key. The well figured, moulded top extends upwards to reveal a fitted storage section housing removable tea caddies and reservoirs for mixing tea. Supported on beautifully carved, ring turned hexagonal baluster column support with foliate motif detail above concave quatrefoil base, terminating on elegant bun feet.
