A very rare early 19th Century William IV giltwood pier mirror finely hand carved and of exceptional quality. The moulded and fluted giltwood frame is surmounted with an overhanging inverse breakfront pediment above panelled frieze with beautifully detailed ring turned pilaster column with foliate motif detail, beautifully hand carved in high relief, flanked with intricately detailed applied flowerhead paterae. The mirror glass plate below of rectangular form is set within an ebonised and reeded border flanked with a further pair of elegantly simple, ring turned pilaster columns with gorgeous foliate detail, supported on shaped platform base.
