Vintage, bentwood, bistro coat and hat rack by Jacob & Josef Kohn, Austria.
Piece is made of beechwood, with a rich, dark, walnut-colored finish.
There are three” S”-shaped hooks, and three, lower hooks, finish with a “T”-shape, to easily hang hats or umbrellas.
The first model of the coat rack from 1911, is present in the J&J Kohn catalog, on page 87.
It is referred as model 1205/3, with 3 hooks.
The shape and design of the piece, along with the screw mountings of the hooks at the back, are typical of this maker.
Piece is in overall, very good, original and vintage condition, with some light marks, signs age and previous usage commensurate time, as well as patina of age and wax, on the overall structure
(see photos.) Some old signs of wood worms are present as can be expected for a piece of this age, but the piece has been fully treated (see photos.) All six hooks, are solid and stable.
