An attractive Korean Goryeo Dynasty bronze bottle vase with traces of gilding, 11th – 12th century, Korea.
The vase of typical form, with a short recessed foot supporting a pear shaped body, tall neck, and wide, everted mouth. The bronze with an overall dark patina, with traces of gilding visible underneath. One large are of bright malachite green patina.
Crafted in several sections, then joined. The brazed joints appearing as raised lines that circumscribe the vase. Additional incised lines circumscribe the body, neck, and interior of the mouth.
