These very rare pieces are made in Leathermaché, two of them are characters in the forms of Putti or cherubs and the other are of a high born couple, their costume seems to date from the 15th-16th centuries
Lethermaché was commonly used in the past as a form of decoration similar to carved wood or stonework, it is not as durable as wood or stone so not very much of it still survives.
These pieces have been attached to a 19th century oak panel and can be wall hung, they have been preserved quite well but they are not perfect and have suffered a few losses
Measure: The putti are 23” high and 5” wide, the whole panel is 38” tall, 27” wide and 5” in depth
