This fine antique William IV Newcastle sterling silver basket has a plain oval rounded form onto an oval pedestal and spreading foot.
The surface of this piece is plain and unembellished, with an applied reed decorated border to the rim.
The silver sugar basket retains the original hallmarked swing handle, ornamented with further reed decoration.
Condition
This antique sugar basket is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in excellent presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the foot and part hallmarks to the handle are all very clear.
