This beautiful and highly decorative pair of Costa Rican terracotta bowls are ovoid in shape and come from the Talamancan Mountains region. They are decorated stylized human faces in relief and are very similar in size. The shorter bowl measures 4 in – 10 cm high with a diameter of 6 1/8 in – 15.5 cm, and the taller bowl measures 4 ¾ in – 12 cm high with a diameter of 5 7/8 in – 15 cm. They have provenance from Sotheby’s in London, circa 1970. The bowls would certainly make a unique and wonderful accent piece to many different rooms and settings.
