An English William and Mary style oak side table from the early 19th century, with three drawers, trumpet legs and curving side stretcher. Born in the very early years of the 19th century, this exquisite side table presents all the stylistic characteristics of the William and Mary style. A rectangular planked top with bevelled edges sits above three drawers with tear-shaped brass pulls. These drawers are placed in a manner of breaking any possible monotony: A longer but thinner drawer is flanked with two shorter but taller ones. The triple arching of the apron, more pronounced in the centre, accentuates this lively movement. The table is raised on six turned trumpet legs, connected to one another through a nicely curved side-stretcher, and rests on lovely bun feet. With its early Baroque silhouette and great patina, this English oak side table circa 1800 will bring a touch of elegance to any home, whether placed in a living room, foyer or bedroom.
