William IV mahogany breakfront bookcase
We are delighted to offer you this William IV mahogany breakfront bookcase.
It was made circa 1835, the cabinetmaker using fine mahogany, to give the rich and interesting grain.
The bookcase has a breakfront cupboard at each end with the open adjustable shelves to the centre. The flame panel doors open to reveal open storage with adjustable shelves.
A bookcase of this design is a very useful item of furniture, as it not only it attractive to look at but it also utilises all its footprint for storage.
Imagine how this lifetime purchase will become such a pleasure to own and how much pleasure you will gain in ownership.
It is quite fascinating to think the original owners would have been experiencing when it was first placed in their home, a time when the Opium wars with China were starting to brew and Britain was about to see the end of the Georgian period before Queen Victoria’s reign.
