William IV mahogany extending dining table
This William IV mahogany extending dining table was made circa 1830, the cabinetmaker selected fine mahogany that gave a wonderful colour and grain.
Each top sheet of mahogany is one piece of timber!! Not multi-boards as you see in tables that are more modern.
The table pulls out on runners so that the extra leaf can be put into place before you secure with a table fork that slides into place.
It has a leg to each corner with the desirable upturned tulip design and stands on a brass cup castor.
This William IV mahogany extending dining table can seat 10 when extended.
The table can be used without the leaf set in place, when closed it seats 6 comfortably.
